Deforestation: issue brief
The goal of an issue brief is to incorporate both research and old knowledge in an effort to either implement, change, or enforce policies and strategies. Construction of such a document demonstrates great attention to detail. One must also be able to adapt to the directions given. In this case, we were instructed to include various sources and infographics.
Utilizing the National Wetlands Inventory to Classify aquatic Ecosystems
By using the Cowardin et. at (1979) and Ramsar (2009) aquatic classification systems, the class was tasked with individually classifying five aquatic features from a selected area. By using the Wetlands Mapper on the NWI, this report helped me become familiar with both the art and science of classifying hydrological and ecological features. Further, this report provided me with experience using major classification systems for aquatic ecosystems in the US and around the world.
